Is Celiac Disease the Worlds Greatest Disease?
MindBodyGreen.com's James Maskell recently stated in an article that Celiac Disease is the world's greatest disease because it is cured simply by a dietary change, and a healthy one at that, which stresses the link between diet,lifestyle, and health. Given the psychosocial impacts of having such a restrict diet and all of the implications that come with such a drastic life style change I am not sure if I would agree with it being 'great'. However, I do agree that it is a great way to come to understand the importance of a healthy diet and life as well as the importance of sharing that with others!

Jacobson executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, discusses some alterations to food labeling which should be addressed in newer labeling laws. Advances in food science have updated our knowledge of what is healthy, and what isn't, and it is important that labeling acknowledges these changes. Jacobson also suggests that "Improving food labels could spur companies to market much healthier foods and encourage consumers to make smarter choices".
