About Me

Nutrition and healthy life styles have always been an interest of mine, but it wasn't until I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and became a social work graduate student, that I truly realized the importance of both and my interest in advancing global health grew. The name for this blog comes from a mistake that happened when I was first diagnosed with Celiac Disease in March 2010. A friend of mine misread an email I wrote to them as saying I was just diagnosed with 'Celtic' rather than Celiac Disease. In reality, I am both and thus the name of this blog was born. I am a Celtic Celiac through and through.

I am currently living on Long Island NY with my Husband Michael, and just obtained my LMSW (Licensed Masters of Social Welfare). As an LMSW, and individual with Celiac Disease  I am determined to assist individuals living with restricted gluten free diets to understand and take a hold of their conditions. I strive to help these individuals live their lives to the fullest on step at a time by providing educational, empowerment, coaching, consulting, and advocacy services

My hope is that my passion for social justice, advocacy, and education comes through in this blog and my servies, to create a unique support tool to help anyone else facing a gluten free life for whatever reason (Celiac Disease, Non-Celiac Disease Gluten Intolerance, Gluten Allergy or lifestyle choice). I want to make our lives fuller, and happier any way I can. I am happy to be a part of the gluten free community, and to be making a contribution to furthering understanding and support for gluten related illnesses.

I believe we can all make a difference by sharing our story and this is mine.  I'll be sharing my insight on living a gluten free life in a busy gluten loving world as well as reviews of products, restaurants, books, articles, research papers and giveaways. I am living, loving and eating Gluten Free and I hope you'll follow along on the journey.
